At 11:21, May 7th BJT, in Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, China's new generation launch vehicle Long March 6C (LM-6C) performed its maiden flight, successfully sending four satellites into the predetermined orbit, namely HaiWangSAT-01, SmartSat-1C (Sanjiangyuan 1 Satellite), Ultra-large Swath Optimal Satellite and High Resolution Video Satellite. It is the fourth commercial rideshare mission of China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

LM-6C Launch Vehicle is a new generation non-toxic and pollution-free two-stage liquid launcher of China developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST), also a subsidiary of CASC. It will be tasked with transporting satellites into multiple types of orbits and supports a variety of launch types including single, multiple and piggyback launch. The designed capacity of LM-6C for 700km sun synchronous orbit is 2000kg.

The launch services for the four satellites are prime-contracted by CGWIC. HaiWangSAT-01 is the first SAR satellite of Ningbo Zhihui Space Technology Co., Ltd to verify the mesh antenna low-cost small SAR satellite technology. SmartSat-1C(Sanjiangyuan 1 Satellite) is an optical remote sensing satellite coordinated by Starwiz Technology Co., Ltd and applied by Qinghai University, which is mainly used for remote sensing monitoring of surface ecosystem in Sanjiangyuan and social and economic development in Qinghai Province. Ultra-large Swath Optimal Satellite and High Resolution Video Satellite are two technical test satellites developed by DFH Satellite Co., Ltd, which are mainly used for the verification of large-range ring scan imaging and high-resolution video imaging technology.

CGWIC is a commercial organization authorized by Chinese government to provide commercial launch services, satellite systems and to carry out space technology cooperation. Under the guidance of CASC, CGWIC can provide fast, stable and reliable "one-stop" quality services to both international and domestic customers by introducing the "Long March Express" launch services brand.

Since Long March launch vehicles successfully entered the international market in 1990s, CGWIC has completed 84 commercial launch missions for 72 international satellites and 131 domestic satellites. In addition, CGWIC has conducted 49 rideshare missions sending 28 international payloads and 123 domestic payloads into orbits.
