At 12:00 Jun 2nd, 2022 BJT, Long March-2C (LM-2C) Launch Vehicle successfully launched GeeSAT-5(01)~(09) satellites from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC). China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (CASC), provides the launch services for this mission.

GeeSAT-5(01)~(09) satellites, designed and developed by GeeSpace, a subsidiary of Geely Technology Group, will be used for verification of remote sensing applications such as future mobility, auto mobile/mobile phone remote sensing interaction and marine environmental protection through in-orbit networking.

LM-2C Launch Vehicle is a liquid two-stage launcher designed and manufactured by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT), also a subsidiary of CASC. The designed capacity of LM-2C is 1200kg for 700km sun synchronous orbit. The largest payload fairing of LM-2C is 4.2m in diameter. This is the 63rd launch of LM-2C.

CGWIC is a commercial organization authorized by Chinese government to provide commercial launch services, satellite systems and to carry out space technology cooperation. Under the guidance of CASC, CGWIC can provide fast, stable and reliable "one-stop" quality services to both international and domestic customers.

Since Long March launch vehicles entered the international market in 1990s, CGWIC has completed 71 commercial launches for 69 international satellites and 49 domestic satellites. In addition, CGWIC has provided 43 rideshare launch services sending 27 international payloads and 102 domestic payloads into orbits.

This launch marks the 422nd flight of the Long March fleet, and also the 5th launch conducted by CGWIC in 2022.
