At 11:06 February 27, 2022 BJT, Long March-8 (LM-8) Launch Vehicle blasted off from Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site (WSLS), deploying 22 satellites into the pre-determined orbit, namely Taijing3-01, Taijing4-01, HN-1(01), HN-1(02), Wenchang1-01, Wenchang1-02, Jilin-1GF03D10 to Jilin-1GF03D18 (9 satellites in total), Jilin-1MF02A01, Chaohu-1 Satellite, Thor Smart Satellite, TIANQI-19, STARERA-17(DAYUN), PHOSPHERUS-1 and Xidian-1, marking a complete success of the second commercial rideshare mission of China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC),a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

The amount of satellites reached a record high by Long March launch vehicles in this LM-8 flight. Thanks to the solid technical reserves and rigorous work to the commercial market from China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT), and the all-round pragmatic support from WSLC, also with the professional program management from CGWIC, and the dedication and sincere cooperation from 7 satellite manufacturers and 9 users, this launch mission took only 12 months from market development and launch vehicle production to the lift-off.

LM-8 launch vehicle is a two-stage liquid launcher developed by CALT, also a subsidiary of CASC. It is mainly used for SSO and LEO launch missions.

CGWIC is a commercial organization authorized by the Chinese government to provide commercial launch services, satellite systems and to carry out space technology cooperation, with more than 40 years of experience and a professional team. Under the guidance of CASC, CGWIC can provide fast, stable and reliable "one-stop" quality services to both international and domestic customers.

The 22 satellites in this commercial rideshare mission were designed and manufactured by 7 entities, and the users are from 7 domestic commercial aerospace enterprises and 2 scientific research institutions.

This launch marks the 2nd flight of LM-8, as well as the 409th flight of the Long March fleet.
