At 11:19 November 6th, 2020 BJT, Long March-6 (LM-6) launch vehicle successfully launched 10 NewSat satellites (i.e. NewSat-9 to NewSat-18) , as main passengers, and three piggyback satellites from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center (TSLC). The piggyback satellites are MN50-3 satellite of Beijing MinoSpace Technology Corporation, TY20 satellite of SpaceTY Co., Ltd. (Changsha) and BY70-3 satellite of China Center for Aerospace Science and Technology International Communications & Northwestern Polytechnical University. China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (CASC), provides the launch services for all the satellites in this launch.
The 10 NewSat satellites are commercial remote sensing satellites designed, built, tested and operated by Satellogic, which is the world first vertically integrated geospatial analytics company based in Argentina. The 10 NewSat satellites will become a part of the low-cost remote sensing satellites constellation named Aleph-1. Each satellite is equipped with multispectral and hyperspectral payload. Till now, CGWIC has provided launch services for 17 NewSat satellites for Satellogic since 2016.
MN50-3 satellite is a remote sensing satellite, TY20 satellite is a scientific experiment satellite, and BY70-3 satellite is for science education.
