On May 17, 2017, China Great Wall Industry Corporation (“CGWIC”),  a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (“CASC”), and Indonesia PT. Palapa Satelit Nusa Sejahtera (“PSNS”) signed the contract of Indonesia “PALAPA-N1” communication satellite project. Mr. Rudiantara, the minister of Indonesia Ministry of Communications; Mr. Sun Weide, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia; Mr. Yang Baohua, Vice President of CASC and representatives of both parties attended the signing ceremony.

PT Palapa Satelit Nusantara Sejahtera (PSNS) is a JV company formed by PT Indosat, Tbk (Indosat Ooredoo), PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) and its shareholder. According to the contract, CGWIC is responsible for in orbit delivery of the PALAPA N1 satelite, which will be developed based on the mature Chinese DFH 4 bus and launched by Long March 3B launch vehicle from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China. CGWIC shall provide a package solution with the products and services to the client include the satellite, launch service, ground system, insurance and financing support. The PALAPA-N1 satellite is developed by China Academy of Space Technology (“CAST”) that subordinated to CASC. It could provide broadcast and broadband services across Indonesia.

The PALAPA-N1 satellite will be finally positioned at 113°E orbit slot to replace PALAPA-D in the geostationary arc. PALAPA-D satellite was launched by LM-3B launch vehicle from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in 2009.

A framework agreement of PSN-VII satellite was also signed by CGWIC and PSN during the signing ceremony.

CGWIC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (“CASC”) and the sole commercial agency authorized by the Chinese government to operate commercial launches, provide satellites in-orbit delivery services and develop international space cooperation as well as technology cooperation. It is a system of integrator for China's aerospace products and services. It can completely supply the satellite on-orbit delivery and the construction of satellite ground station for domestic and international customers, with all-round and one-stop service to meet customers’ demands for diversification. Up to now, CGWIC has provided 55 times commercial launches for more than 20 countries or regions, include 12 times international piggyback launches. CGWIC has completed 8 projects on the in-orbit delivery of DFH-4 communication satellite and 1 project on the remote sensing satellite to international customers. Its services have achieved wide recognitions by the clients. The maturity and reliability of Chinese made satellites have been fully validated and gradually gained wide recognitions from more international mature operators and customers.
