LM-3B launch vehicle successfully launched the telecommunication technology test satellite No.2 late Thursday night from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province, which marks the success of China’s first launch mission in 2017.
The telecommunication technology test satellite No. 2 is a new generation of large capacity communication and broadcast test satellite, which is mainly used for satellite communications, data transmission, multi band and broadband high-speed data transmission test verification.
The satellite is developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST), the subsidiary of China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (CASC). The Long March-3B launch vehicle is developed by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT), also a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (CASC). The launch was the 245th mission of the Long March launch vehicle family and the 78th mission of the Long March 3A series launch vehicle.
