China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) and International Satellite Company Limited (ISC), a subsidiary of Thaicom Public Company Limited, entered into a procurement contract for a communication satellite on October 20, 2016 in Bangkok.

Based on the contract provision, CGWIC will design and build a high throughput satellite for ISC. The satellite is expected to be launched in mid-2019 by LM-3B Launch Vehicle from Xichang Satellite Launch Center.

The Satellite will be equipped with Ka band payload and multiple spot beams covering Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia to deliver broadband and mobility services within its 15-year lifetime.
