At AM 11:21 Beijing Time on June 29th 2016, China's Long March 4B (LM-4B) launch vehicle successfully launched the Shijian-16(02) satellite into the pre-determined orbit from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center (JSLC).

The Shijian-16(02) satellite will be mainly used for space environmental exploration and technology experiments. Both the satellite and the LM-4B launch vehicle are designed and manufactured by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST), subordinated to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

This launch marks the 231st flight of the Long March series launch vehicles.
